So in replacing my motor today I pulled the carbs down and shined them up real good but I noticed the jets installed where 280's. I called teh local dealer they said to run 590's with the dpm but my dpm is not there and he said it would need to be hand tuned. So any input ??? any Im am running 7k to 10k

590's??? Not aware of any Doo close to stock that can use that much fuel.
What year and exact sled, and any mods would be helpful. :face-icon-small-hap

My 01 Summit 700 had 520's in it with SnowStuff Rumble pack can and I have it down to 490's since I changed my reed valves to Boyesen Rage Cages, I could probably go down another jet size but I'm pretty close. I ride at 6000 to 9000 ft and sled does have DPM (just for reference).

I dont know what jets that you need to run but I do want to point out to others that may help you out that you have round slid carbs on your 700 from a 2000 or older summit. The 2002 summit had flat side rack carbs on them. Just pointing this out becouse I know that the jet sizes are different between the two carbs. So when you are asking for jetting help you need to point out that you have round slide carbs from a 2000 700 summit. just trying to help...

I have a 2000 MXZ 700 with the round slide carbs- no DPM. I am running 280 mains at the 1000'-2000' elevation range. When I head out west to Laramie(Snowy Range), I run 210 mains. I believe the elevation ranges from 6000-10000' out there and it is spot on. Hope that helps you a bit.

Ok so I ran at 10200 this weekend seemed like I was missing allot of power and I couldnt get the old beast to wrap up to 8k only running about 7300. Not sure if it is my jetting.

I got together with a great doo shop here in utah to test jetting. So if you had the tw Round side carbs with dpm (all sleds 02 & newer had dpm). The stock jets are 280's which would be the correct jet for sea level to 2000 feet then the dpm compensates that at your riding elevation! If you do not run the dpm the jets that work the best are as followed!( as for me these jets work the best!)

6000 - 8000 use 230's

8000 - 10000 use 210's
