My jetting question is for those with the SLP performance kit on their 07 800R Summits, i ride between 7-11k, i have the 13.7 to 1 head. SLP recommends a 560 PTO, 540 on the mag side and raising the needle one position. What is everybody running after some ride time?

540/560's Must be a typo:face-icon-small-con??? Stock is 470's

I have the SLP 3000-6000ft head. They recomend going up 2 sizes to 490's and raise the needle 1 clip position.

The 490 mains are for just the head, the 560 and 540 are for the entire kit, the head, y-pipe, high flow intake, and can.

Seems like extremely rich "safe" jetting specs? Especially considering you're riding 7-11K? Just a thought, but I don't have any personal experience with the SLP kit.

I have the 3000-6000 kit and phoned jim at SLP (the old tech guy there) and it's correct you need the 560/540. I too was unsure of it at first, but he figures it moves that much more air, so as to get a good wash in the cylinder they use lotta jetting. I don't ever plan to raise the needle though. or just go a little lighter on the jets and watch your plugs for the first while...

WOW!! That's a huge differance in jetting using the entire kit!
If that's what they call for then I'd sure start out doing what they say!
The 490's are working good with just the SLP head.
I only raised the needle 1/2 a clip .015 thick washer.

Wow, that does sound rich. Most heads require smaller mains. A buddy runs SLP y-pipe, RKT head, can and is running 450's at 3-6000ft on 800R....and it runs very strong.
The intake will not need any additional fuel, the can shouldn't either, the Y-pipe MAYBE 1 jet size bigger.....so why so much fuel for just a head??? Slp is notoriously "safe" on their recomendations, often too safe IMHO.

I know SLP is setting the 560/540 jetting at the extreme safe side, it was at 540/490 until last week, i guess i will be doing a little test and tuning. Thanks for the replies.

We're running 510/520 at 3-6k on the one SLP kit we installed on a R. The 06 we put one on is running 480/490 with the same kit. Nobody can touch those sleds(but everyone else is stock)
