Anyone jetted down their 800XP? My plugs look fine, maybe slightly rich. I have come across a few guys who jetted down for performance and they ride same altitude. Usually 5500-8500 ft.

Anybody do this and have a bad storey to tell?

thanks for your input.

i bought an xp so i wouldn't have to do that jetting thing lots of mod guy's have to do every time they go out because of wheather or altitude or gas or what ever is going on that day .

i heard that if you go down two size's , you can put bigger pistons in shortly after

Yeah but do you really think I should be running the same main jet at 7-10,000 that someone else is running at sea level???

Jetting

on our 08 800xp we jetted down one size on the mains i run it a fair bit at 2200ft, i did notice at fernie going up the trail from morrisey that my egt would go off in the mid range 1150deg. not bad but lean mid range, i put a shim under the needle of one of the sleds now its perfect, when i clean carbs this fall i will lift the needle of the other one, im also running the mbrp can like you as well, dont know if itmakes any difference.

what about leanin out the pilot circuit?
maybe a size or 2.
drop the main 1 size, shim the needle and drop the pilot circuit1.

our 08's were running a litle lean if anything not rich:confused::confused:

I expect to put a SLP head on this fall(if it ever shows up) I will get a better look at how she's been running when I get the head off. It's hard to tell by looking at the plugs when they hardly show black or white, or brown for that matter.

the fueling is ok , the saftey system they employ works awsome when one over heats a motor , they use the fuel and ing timing to stop you from hurting the engine.
if you get the system to stopslipping in the transmission you see very good milage , or as good as a 6 dollar gallon can get you .
