Jetting and altitude

So I just picked up a 97 MM 600 (for free!) that has been sitting for five years. I ran through the sled and was able to get it running last week. It has the so called smart carbs on it and it runs super rich in my garage at 5800'. We ride at 9k and above so will the 3k altitude jump drastically clean this thing up?

Btw, It has 160 main jets in it.

The opposite of what you want. It'll be richer if you go up in elevation. You'd better figure it out or bring lots of plugs with you.

Ken...........

Gotcha. I clearly haven't messed with carbs in a long time So what do you suggest I jet down to? Again, 160s in there now.

So you think 120s may be a good starting point?

I don't think I would go that far all of are sleds are piped and ported and when we go to the mountains we really don't change getting around that much o and are sleds are 700s.
