Jaw can loosing wadding

So while I was out riding my 2010 m8 started to loose power.
When I got to the truck it would not rev over 6500.
As I was tying it down i notice some insulation coming out of the exhale pipe.
I pulled it out and now it runs good.
My question is, is this can shot or can I still use it?

They all do that, just not usually that dramatically.


It'll run fine, but just be a little more annoying to your buddies.

Pull the can off and check the internal perforated tube that keeps the packing in place... If it ran that poorly, it must have been partially blocked off. Sometimes the welds break and the internal screen can slip sideways causing the blockage. Like BCIL said no big deal that the packing is gone... it'll just be louder!
