Finally did more in eliminations than 1 or 2 rounds and out.. made it to 5th place in Pro eliminator class at WW on Sunday (we won't talk about Saturday.. something to do with a double foul).. riding that heavy improved stock, ex grass drag sled..(small block) 600... she ran past a bunch of hot cars before being eliminated in a breakout. Her dial.. 7.14.. break out by 2 hundreds.. and she was on the brakes! Still good enough she gets to go to Boise for the NHRA regionals in Boise in a couple of weeks... We are confident we will get the sled into the sixs with good air (the 7.1 run was in the heat of the day.. 130 ground temp, 110 air (by the way..the back of Janet's black leather race coat... 147 degrees)..

Updates from the NHRA Division 6 finals.. Janet made 5 rounds in the snow/bike class. In Time trials she broke into the 10s (in the quarter mile) at 120 mph.. would have gone faster and quicker but our best primary spring broke.. anyway with the second set up ran 11.2s all day long until she lost in a break out of 0.163... I think the sled is capable of 10.5-6s at probably 130-5 MPH.. not bad for a 600. Next year the 800!!

Congrats Janet! Way to go. Keep us posted on your trip to Firebird and if I'm in town we'll come out to cheer you on. 7.14? How could that be? That's a 150-160 MPH run? The boys here with HUGE HP trips aren't touching sevens. If that is quarters you all have come a loooong looooong ways! What is her average RT? 60 ft? ....Yea Janet.

I wish... 1/8 mile, 95 MPH.. computes into mid-high 10s.. for a 600.. that is pretty good

At Walla Walla raceway this past weekend and found a few more HP... Janet was in the triple digits (and full leathers) in the 1/8 mile 102 MPH was her best. ET (keep in mind this is just a 600cc sled) 6.73... would have done more if I could get it to hook up.. when we tried to turn it up the sled would go up in smoke about 60 feet out.. One run I tried a soft suspension set up... sled hooked, did a 1.56 60 foot and kept the skis off the ground until 100-120 feet out and at that point Janet had to lift to stay in her lane.. If weather is good... we are coming to Spokane this Saturday... we like the Spokane track as the air is usually pretty good.. so who knows... if we can get a little traction will the sled get into the low 10s??? stay tuned... Mike

Spokane

oh bummer.. made the trip to Spokane to race this morning... coming storm was making the air good and we were hoping for a mid-10 run.. got tech and then went to start the sled and nothin.. no spark... did the disconnect everything and hope for a bad switch... nothing... unwrapped every wire looking for a bad connection (Janet said, why don't you use your electronic checking tool?).. anyway I gave her some technicial answer why I was not using it and she said, "YOU LEFT IT AT HOME DIDN'T YOU?" I explained I did not need it anyway as I think the CDI unit is bad... Janet said, "Where is the spare?" I gave her some technicial answer and she said, "YOU LEFT IT AT HOME DIDN'T YOU?" I said, well... maybe. Long story short, pack everything back up, drove home, walked into the shop took the spare CDI, plugged it in and one pull and it started... I'm probably sleeping in the dog house tonight...

anyone have a 1997 CDI unit for sale for a Doo triple? Need a spare

You can never carry too many spare parts for them doos. I have a cdi for a pig. Wire that baby up and you will be in the 9s for sure.

Sorry to here about your bad luck. I wish I could have been there to give janet a tow back to the trailer.
