This years sleds are substantially different. LCC did a ton of chassi modification which resulted in lower and narrower platforms. The front ends are 4th evolution with lower spindles, Fox podium X float evols and we are now using K-MOD rear skids. Stock Nytro motors with flowed heads, custom turbo kits(mid mount) tuned by Dyno-Jet, and the list goes on...

The sleds do handle exceptionally well, and are well mannered in rough trenches at speed. Our biggest weakness continues to be off camber corners where we have to "WRESTLE" them through low speed sections. We are now working on the 5th evolution of the front end to try and fix this problem.

Congrates on the great year.

Are you guys planning on running the Viper at all next year?

As your front ends are evolving, are you getting lower and further forward? Or can you elaborate a little bit more?

I am also wondering about the viper for next years rmsha, know its only a 141 right now, but making it a 153/162 shouldn't be much of an issue.

Seems like the writing is on the wall for the nitro chasis, sounds like a whole lot of time and effort has gone into it trying to make it as good as it is, but at what time does team blue roll out the yamacat.

Lets see a longtracked viper running rmsha next year, I'll cast the first vote.

YES/NO/MAYBE...:juggle::decision:

The current geometry does place the spindle further forward AND lower which has produced the best handling characteristics so far. Evolution 5 will use narrower A-arms (-4") to get us in the 38" CTC range. This progression should allow for the sleds to get up on edge quicker and reduce the amount of rider input needed on those off camber corners.

There is definitely some pressure inside the ranks to race the Viper in RMSHA next year, but there is some resistance as well. These hillclimb Nytros were originally built as 2 year race sleds, and the amount of R&D and capital invested makes it hard to walk away from them. We are doing a spring test session in May with head to head comparisons between the two platforms to see what makes the most sense for racing. It would be pretty cool to see a fleet of HCR turbo Vipers next year, but they will have to be exceptional sleds in order to out perform what we already have. One possible rumor that I have heard floated out there is the idea of selling our race sleds through LCC to potential buyers. If we sold all of our current hardware, then we would be forced to build new Vipers for racing. Your guess is as good as mine...:dizzy:
