Does anybody know what kind of polaris cole willford is running in 600 mod? Turbo 600 pro?

Don't think burandt did but sahen skinner did and wrecked about 100 yards past first gate.

You would think burandt and skinner would do decent since they both ride 120 days a yr,mostly climbing hills. They never seem to make it more then 1/4 the way up. A lot harder then it looks I am guessing.

Maybe if there would have been a bunch of trees on the course he would have done better? :face-icon-small-win

it is very difficult... it you could just run the hill, pick your own line it would be a challenge, but having to come to a near stop, make a gate, and then side hill over to your next gate... not to mention the ice, the trenches, the rocks, tree stump, cat walks... it is really tuff... add to that the nerves of having so many people watch you and the Mega-tron TV... I been on the hill several times... qualified for the main races (Sunday show) twice and FRIGGIN CRASHED before the second cat walk each time:Cry: my own fault, left my brain at the starting gate. (And my wife will ALWAYS tell you... SHE has been MUCH HIGHER on the hill than me :hail:...) but the flip side are the top racers make it look like a walk in the park, a trail ride as they are that smooth. But every racer that is being honest will tell you to win it takes super sled set up, great talent, and ALWAYS a little luck. My time is past to try the hill but wow it is cool to watch racers fly up the hill! and hats off :yo: to the winners and the ones that placed in the top five

Like plumnuts said, the nerves alone would get most riders before they even start up the hill. Plus, even though Burandt rides 150 days a year it's in 3 ft. of pow that makes his riding look good. It's hard to transition to icy, rocky, rut filled side-hills after riding that all year

There's some footage in the WY section from Fridays final runs to the top. It shows just a fraction of how the course was set up. We also had the luxury of starting the ruts/holes for all the pros on Saturday. People have no idea of how steep and hard packed that hill is until they are on it. The feeling looking down from the top is unreal.
