Jackson hillclimb can you still go up on the hill and watch from the side???

So apparently they are making some changes to the hillclimb this year and it says they will have a "jumbotron" and people will be able to "stand on pavement rather than a slippery slope". this has me worried I havent been for 6 or 7 years but all the fun was going up on the course and standing next to the hill watching it up close. Anyone know anything about this?? Thanks

You can go up, but you have to buy a lift ticket. It's been that way for a few years.

You can go to the top but no side show anymore. Unless they change it for this year I dont go anymore because you cant get close to the action.

This would be a change for the worse for spectators. I was there in 2009 and watched from the snowfence. Is this official?

If you ride the lift up it's only a round trip pass for a ticket...use to be buy a ticket and go up and down as many times as a person wanted to, but that was quite a while back. You can still stand by the snowfence but you had better get there early or it fills up quick. Not sure about the jumbotron for this year. The hillclimb is a lot of fun, but very commercialized these days compared to before. It's the cheapest if you buy the weekend pass compared to a daily pass to enter the event!

Can someone actually confirm that they are or are not allowing people to watch from the side anymore??? i sure hope this is not true. it is pointless to ride the lift up if you cant walk down and watch from the snowfence. We were gonna make the trip, but i wont go if you cant watch from the side like past years.

i finally emailed the president of the jackson hole snow devils this question. he told me you can still take the lift up and walk down to watch from the side of the hill as usual so thats good news!
