So over the last year and the first ride this year, I have had the upper spindle -A arm bolt nuts come loose 3 times. The nuts on either the inside or the outside of the A-Arm seem to like to vibrate loose even when tightened to the max. I wound up putting blue loc-tite on them to try to solve this problem so I dont have the upper spindle heim-bolt come loose from the arm.

I wanted to pass on this info as the season begins just to make sure nobody comes off a jump and eats s*** from one of these things coming loose or off.

Pretty surprised by this as my sled doesn't vibrate much, but apparently it does enough.:face-icon-small-sho:beer;

Just a thought. Take a punch to the protruding threads to keep the nut from possibly backing ALL the say off.....but you'll still be able to wrench it off. Incase the loctite fails. Trees are hard at 60mph! :lips:

I hadn't considered nicking the threads, that's not a bad thought actually:beer;

I had considered replacing with nylocs on both sides, I think if this round with loc-tite doesn't work I'll go that route the next time they come loose... I REALLY wrenched them on there tho, lol, so here's hoping.

I found one of mine about to fall off 2 seasons ago Seth, blue loc-tite seems to have done the trick.

try using a squashed type lock nut, instead of a nylon insert the top of the nut is oval shaped, they hold MUCH tighter than nyloc nuts. and they are still service removeable! plus they dont ruin your threads!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who has experienced it, lol.... in a way that is.

So do these sleds vibrate a little bit or something? ;)

i had the upper spindle bolt come out on me too, but i lost it...it was a SKETCHY 20mile ride back to the truck...go figure it happened to me ;)

Skisucca left me behind...such a good friend, lol

This is good thread the more I read and think about. This happens not only on 900 shakers. Lots of good answers also, I would only add, if this happens, to go ahead verify/adjust camber if jamb nuts have loosened. I have found that drawing a witness line with a paint pen across jamb nuts/a- arm is a very quick to look at, even from a distance, indication that something isn't right- if my line isn't perfectly matching. This kinda leads also to, of all the issues Polaris had starting '05, the bulkhead/a-arm design was, and still is top notch design in my book, pro model included. If you tweak an a-arm(depending on severity of course) use the adjustability of the camber and toe in/out to keep riding-like you always ride it- it's awesome! Fix it later. Consider this can be done on other makes as well, with addition of big f'n hammer!
