its official, Favre retires

yup, certainly no need to be a packer fan to respect this guy...

for me, what seals it up as him being one of the greatest is simply this... I've been to many games at lambeau, at half time they usually have some peewee teams out there playing short fields on each end... after the break and when the players come out of the tunnel, without exception, favre was the only player from either team that would stop and shake the hand or slap the helmet of every kid that was out there playing... just like he was one of the kids himself... the man went out of his way to make sure every single kid got his "seal of approval" for playing football... it was impressive to say the least... a true fans player...

If all pro athletes had his work ethics and attitude all sports would be more popular. I like it when a player scores a TD and acts like he has been there before. Not a Packer fan, but you gotta respect Brett.

After this year, I thought he would make one more run at it. First year ballet hall of famer for sure.

As a diehard packer fan, I'm definately torn on how I feel about this. I'm glad he didn't drag this out any further. We'll finally get to see if Aaron Rodgers is the real deal. On the other hand, Favre was still getting the job done, and was coming off of a MVP type season. Either way, it's been a pleasure watching him lead the pack for the past 15 years.

Here's to ya, Brett
