I for one have a problem with that.... I had three surgeries last year and wasn't even all the way back to my old self and they closed my case because i was employable. Maybe you should reconsider and take that L & I post off. I worked hard to get where i am today. It cost a lot for employers premiums on insurance for l n i.

it's a state organization, they don't care to retrain you and they sure don't care if you can't go back to your job of injury and end up making half per day. you're just a claim number and their job is to insure a business only.
personally my employer screwed me over and swore up and down that i wasn't covered under L&I. he was a witness to my accident and didn't do chit. i have recorded voicemails where he intentionally suppressed my claim by demanding i do illegal activities before i go to the doctor and L&I wont do a damn thing. my employer wasn't paying into L&I on a regular basis. i spoke with a field agent who did an investigation and was fooled by my employer.
every scenario is different and i'm real sorry about your injury. nothing i said in my original post was wrong, outlandish, or rude. your injury obviously was more severe than mine and its bullchit that your claim was closed early. again that's the govt. for you. i'm not really following your "problem" with what i said originally? and why are you talking about premiums?

correct! i turned my employer in for fraud and needless to say i do not have the option to work for him. my claim is closed as of this week so while i look for employment i might as well ride
yah, it is disturbing seeing how much people make not working. Crap, that is almost a 30k a year (not)job.

you must remember that when employed you pay into unemployment insurance. these are not funds taken (completely) from tax dollars, nor do they last forever. it is also necessary to attend workshops and/or apply for a minimum of three jobs per week to be eligible for your weekly claim. there are some who milk the system and others who use it because they are forced to do so. it is also nearly impossible to quit a job and collect unemployment. there has to be very certain circumstances where your quitting is valid under the state's law.

the problem i'm having is there is really not alot out there. hopfully after the end of the year there will be more avalable but until then i just have to continue doing what the program tells me to do and not get bummed out about it like i said in an earlyer post my wife has a real good job so we are in a better position than alot of people but it could be easy to get bummed out then things may not be as easy so for all my fellow snowesters that are on unenjoyment hang in there

as for the premiums if you were to have a business it goes up when you have an employee go on l n i. I have just started a business and some day i will have to pay l n i also i think if you look at it as an employer you will understand. I am not anyway or form complaining about my surgeries or injuries....
if you are part of a full referal union like i am you don't have to look for work or attend the work shops etc etc etc.
