Just got back from west yellowstone. Rode with 2 2010 HCR's, 3 2010 Rev XP's, 1 2011 800 E-TEC, and 3 PRO's (1 assult, 1 155, and my 163). There was deep pow every day and boy do these PRO's go. I have it clutched with the black/purple sec spring and 10-60 weights. It had 13 miles on it when I brought it out there and now it has 130 miles. Every time I checked the R's they were between 8-8200 no matter what I was doing.

Now for the fun part, there were a few disappointed ski-doo guys. Here are a few comments, "Someone has got to beat that f-ing polaris". I was told I couldn't compete because I had a 163 and the ski-doos are only 154, and it didn't matter that the ski-doo's track is 16" wide. My buddy a loyal ski-doo guy was really impressed and said that they are a very good sled. I never thought I would ever hear him say something good about a polaris!

Myself and the guy with the E-TEC had ourselves a small hill climb the second day. I had the High Mark and he told me that he had stuck it about 15 ft below my mark as it was getting hard to see. The E-TEC was only 75% broke in when we arrived the previous day, so it had a day and a half of riding in before our little climb.

On another hill the REV Xp's were climbing a hill and were coming about 30' short of going over. I lined up and right over the top I went. There was the same situation on adifferent hill where I went right up and the doo guys weren't happy. The guy on the 155 PRO told me to move over 10 ft and do it again to really piss them off but I came up short on that run.

This is an AWESOME sled. The first day it took some getting used to but the second 2 days it did everything I wanted it to and then some. I have always owned polaris and its great to get out with a bunch of good guys and have a good time. All the sleds ran good and they all came back in one piece. Every brand has a good sled out there that can compete with the next. I've just gotten so much crap the past few years about all the problems polaris has had with the motor and being heavy and so on from my skidoo buddies that I had to come on here and share my past weekend experience!

GREAT JOB POLARIS!!!!

Your just finding out what all of us already knew. Glad you had a great ride.

I work with a guy that bleeds green and is always dissing on Polaris. I let him ride my Pro and he loved it. Last week he came into work and said a buddy of his just bought a 2010 Cat, so he chewed him out for not getting a Pro. Now the guy is thinking of trading for one. Ha Ha:face-icon-small-ton

You gotta love it.

great post verticalman. My 163 is also upsetting my m-8 (2010, 162) buddy when he's stuck and I climb past him!!!

The Pros are a good machine... but now that the Etecs are finally getting broken in and dialed, that Polaris pedestal might not seem as high. :rain:

What is the Black Purple rated?? I couldn't find it on Polaris's website, is it a SLP spring? also what is the stock spring rated?? I just had a friend who let me try the 38 helix instead of the 42 to get the rpms up but it doesn't seem to pull as hard now. We left the stock 62 weights in the primary and it would tach 8300 8400 on the trail and 8100 to 8200 on the hills but felt like it was shifting out to fast. I would like to go back to the stock helix if I can get it to hold the rpms. I'm just hoping this black purple will do that.

So every one was riding a 153/154 and you were the only 163.
Your 163 track poaching made it over the top, but couldn't make it over in fresh snow. just had to give you crap.
glad you polaris guys finally got a decent sled to ride. :face-icon-small-ton

Yeah but, about the end of march or middle of April when these e-tecs get broke in (LOL) we're gonna have to be hanging on tight when it happens, cause otherwise it'll puke you right off the back and rip that machine right out of your hands. When it happens I mean. LOL. Or.....once the snow gets hard and we can get back to racing up hills on hard-pack like we all love. :face-icon-small-win

GREAT JOB POLARIS!!!!
I ride a doo and the 163 Poo does an exceptional job keeping the front end down. The transfer is what making these climb so well. They are a very nice sled

I was just about to warn you that the haters would be coming into this thread anytime. Looks like they already made it. Snowmobiler....where are you?

LOL...in April when the eTecs are broke in....they'll be ready for top end rebuild by the time the break in period is done.

Wow- here you warn everyone about the "haters" and top it off with your negative top end rebuild wisdom, Good Job!

Its what polaris recommends for any elevation above 8000 ft. Its a TEAM black/purple spring which is 160/240 and the stock black is 155/222 that is right out of TEAMS catalog.

Jamie we did have a great time. Its Jeff with the assault. Thanks for helping me all weekend.

Just wait until your PRO comes off the break in (13 miles now 150)! Eth plug in or not?

This sled is just an entire new level of fun for mtn riders. The sadness is that we PRO pilots should carry ourselves with a bit more humility out of kindness and respect for our fellow sledders. It's tough because you can't wipe this hapiness from the face!

NAH Suck it and know..."I"m having way more fun then you!"
