Issues with snow coming in around QD

As the title reads I'm having issues with snow coming in around the QD belt. Sled is a 22 khaos slash 146. I bought it used a couple months ago. Is this a common thing or should I be looking deeper?

Basically after every ride there's is a big accumulation of snow that melts around the QD belt. If I leave it outside it freezes the lower gear and belt in and makes a hell of a noise and I end up chipping it out with a tool of some kind. I'm worried that if I go somewhere and spend any type of downtime it will freeze I and I won't be able to chop it out.

There is a big enough gap between the plastics on that side (lower fender or whatever they call it) and the bulkhead that I can see daylight through it. No pics as I'm at work but I can snap a few tonight. It's In the heated shop thawing and getting ready for a good inspection

I sealed all the gaps with silicone and have had no issues with it. Some people said that would make ice collect there that made it's way in elsewhere, but after a really deep day last week, I checked and had zero ice or snow near the quickdrive, and hardly any anywhere in the bottom of the sled.

I did notice that snow can make its way in from the pull handle hole, but with mine being electric start, I never touch the handle during the day so it's pretty minimal.

The upper hood vents let a ton of snow in though, I had a good chunk of ice/snow on the upper airbox and stuck to the hood behind the headlight20250208_112554.jpg20250208_112810.jpg20250208_112720.jpg20250208_112716.jpg

Its a thing, lots of points of entry on the hood and side panels also down by your feet is a good size hole. Made my own screens for hood and side panels already, gonna make some for the foot wells this weekend.
