Island Park Update

fully of mines~ there are some good spots but dwindling fast~ needs alot more snow~ be careful

All of the easily accessible open public areas are BEAT up.
But, as soon as you get off the beaten path, there is decent snow.
The higher you go the better it gets.
The more in the woods you go, the better it gets.

Spent all day saturday there and had a great time.
Headed back up in an hour with my little girl (12yrs) and I am sure we will find some fun places for her to play.

Weather is drop dead gorgeous right now.
But its been over a week since any real snowfall, and it will be another week yet before any is predicted.

WEST OF I.P.

I rode yesterday west of I.P., Our tracks from riding christmas day are still there. One spot where my daughter launched off the trail into some willows, her tracks are still there with maybe 3" over them. It is sad! I never seen it like this since i moved here in 99. It is a snowmobile repair mans dream year! a snowmobile riders worst! I won't be back there until we get snow dumps measuring in the feet!

I went to Jefferson last Saturday. It is rideable but there are rock piles in areas I have never seen them before.
Even in the trees we were spinning clear down to the dirt.
Snotel shows that the area got about 4-6" but unless we get 4-6' it isn't going to get anywhere close to good riding.
