Hey Christopher how's things down there? I really wanna go for a ride !
Spent the day on the mountain today.
First day of Breakin on my new 2022 Turbo Expert.
The snow is a MIXED BAG.
Island Park in general is WELL TRACKED OUT.
BUT.
If you are willing to GET OFF THE BEATEN PATH and do a little back country riding there is GOOD SNOW to be had.
This is a good example.
We were running down a drainage that just beyond that sled in the background turned into a nasty dropoff.
You can see the snow on the left and right of our tracks is just fine.
I would guess there was 4 inches of reasonably "fresh" snow on a TERRIFIC base pretty much everywhere we rode in the 8,000ft range today.
There is MASSIVE HOAR FROST all over the place up high.
Glad I didn't see any of it on serious slopes, as it would be an AVY NIGHTMARE, but around 3:00pm this afternoon the sun hit that Hoarfrost and all of the snow turned into DIAMONDS.
It was SPECTACULAR to see..
I would have no issues with going right back up for another day.
That said.
The snow forecast is HORRIBLE right now!!
I mean SUPER UGLY for the next 10 days.
