Hey Moondawg

If you're going to Jefferson make sure you go with a couple people who have ridden it before. You can get into a lot of trouble back there. If you're going from Macks you need to head south toward Island Park Res. Just take the road to the res. at Elk Creek Station, cross the river and keep going. There are 3 parking lots you can use to get there. I would say willow creek is the best just because it has the easiest access/exit. It's the last parking lot before they stop plowing the road. Blue Creek is the one closest to Yale Creek, don't go there unless you've got someone familiar with the area. This is hands down one of the best places to ride anywhere, just be smart. Storms kick up quick back there, and lots of the access to hills and bowls is over ridge lines that can be hazardous in bad conditions. Have fun if you go over there and keep an eye out because can hit some big rocks if you're not paying attention. Sounds like they've been getting pounded though, powder should be amazing, and some of those hill climbs seem like they go all the way to the top of the world.

Camera never came out

Well just got back and vis was so bad this afternoon that the camera never came out. Rode into the flats in front of windshield, base is good there are some sketchy spots on the South side of Jefferson, Big rocks still poking out. The South side of the drainage had good base and some deep snow on it. Only got to ride for 2 hours this afternoon and came out at dark cause we are a little sketchy on being back in there when the weather isn't good. Waist deep in most spots. Only prob I could see was it was really warm today (prob around 31 when we unloaded) hope it doesn't create a bad sheer layer. People that are coming for the holidays should be all :D:D:D:D. What we have is going to be a good base and if we get the storms we are supposed to it is going to be great.

i heard a rumor that island park got dumped on over the last 24 hours. Just wondering if anyone actually knows if that is true. If so how much did they get.

and snotel says

Island park is up to 29.3" at 7pm site is in the upper henry's area at 6290' of elevation. anyone riding up there this weekend? I am looking to drive up from pocatello.

IP is under a nice new blanket. We've been up there since last week and it's almost like it never quit snowing. I only have quesses on how much but it's a foot or two even on the floor up and down the highway.

Headed back up tomorrow for sure - but prolly just do Fish Creek and Snow Creek from Warm River.

Great news boys...great news. WackyWally, we may definitely take you up on that. I'll PM you with my info.

Where you guys staying? What kind of riding do you prefer, what kind of sleds will you be on? I'm not sure if I'll be up there that weekend, but hopefully. We usually ride Jefferson if it's safe, and if the weather's half-way decent. That's what's great about Island Park, no matter what kind of rider you are, there's somewhere to go.
