Island Park - Late January/Early Feb riding conditions

Anybody out there right now or going to be out there next week?

If you could relate the snow conditions that would be great.....

Heading out there on Feb 3rd for a week and would love to hear some details

Well, Specifically the areas from Taylor Creek over to Sawtelle, and over in Black Canyon loop area in Island Park

Does the snow have a base?

I was out in IP 8th-13th before the last storms. Anywhere from 2.5-4+ft. The top foot was set hard crust with 3 ft of sugar snow all the way to the ground.. Some buds where there after the 14th during the last snows. They reported seeing slides in Black Canyon area. I'm also heading back to IP on the third, maybe see you at the Pond. Where you staying?

Plan on spending all day tomorrow in IP, mostly in the Black Canyon area, and maybe up on Two Tops depending on snow conditions.

Will post what I see.

It's deeeeeep.... Avy danger is still pretty high so we played in the trees on the south end of Black Canyon / Fish creek area... found some good areas just to tear up... Pretty freaky feeling and hearing the snow shake.

Heading home in the morning...

We are leaving at 4:30 am on the third from the twin cities and should arrive in I.P late that evening.........

We have been staying at Centennial View cabin for the last several years.

It is out in the meadow between Shotgun and Lakeside....... Closer to Shotgun actually........

Maybe we will see you at a gas stop or two on the way out.........

WE will have two rigs, one black expedition pulling white triton two place enclosed, the other is a chev supercab pulling a open four place with three sleds on it.........

SNOW IS REALLY GOOD. Rode the areas you spoke of and haven't seen the natural avy stuff but be careful.

Spent all day Saturday in IP.
Snow was GREAT, and lots of it.
If I wasn't a church going guy, I would have gone right back up on Sunday and done it all over again.
