ISLAND PARK ID FEB 16-20

How is the snow in Island Park right now? planning a trip for next week 16-20 what is the snow forecast and how will it be? what has the weather been like and so on? any info is appreciated. can only get so much from weather.com

hey from your area just got back...it was honestly the worst in 10 years of going there....black canyon and two top totally beat up ending spending 2 days leaving island park and going towards mesa falls...found a lot of untracked fun areas and the snow was way better but as you know all meadows in that area so no climbing if that is your thing...was pretty warm so may be setting up in that area so will be in need of snow....still had a great trip but they need a couple feet of snow.

You just have to get OFF the trails and into the woods where you can still find snow to play on.

But there is NO fresh.

I will be out there then as well. The forecast is showing some chances for snow in the next ten days. Let's hope they get dumped on!

Heading to Island Park the same weekend 2. Taking the family and praying for snow:nod:Been checking the weather and every weather forcast seems different:face-icon-small-con. So just hopping for the best.

Island Park

It will be great riding. I have been out twice in Nevada this year and we have very little snow but it was great. Any day riding is better than a day of work. Leaving sat. for IP. See all you flat landers there.

Driving back as we speak. They do need some fresh but our group of 11 rode 6 days and found decent snow. We just had to go further back each day to find any that wasn't beat up. It was warm each day and cold at night so the snow is set up. You can go almost anywhere. Avy danger is very high and we did come across a few slides. Taylor area was the best. Have fun.

twistedm1000 have a safe trip out. let me know how the snow is on sunday. schism and i will see you wednesday night.

rode in shotgun area today climbing on mt. jefferson, snow was great for the conditions. got stuck multiple times, just gotta go find the snow, even the trails were fine. I ride a 12 PRO RMK and i never ran the scratchers and never got above 130 degrees so the snow is pretty good despite what some might say

we also rode from shotgun up one of the drainages and was foged in all day..made for some interesting boondocking..found lots of fresh untracked spots..but the fog was terrible at times lol.my sled never got hot either i run a turbo apex,,hope the clouds lift in the morning be nice to see..ride safe out there.
