Island Park Avy Danger - EXTREME

This was yesterday on the back side of Mt. Jefferson, we know this is an very bad year for avy's so we went to play in the trees, and yet, .............. it still happened, was very surprised at the size for such a small hill. The rider made a pull on the left side and out and over. Our standard is always watch a rider on a climb until safe. I watched him go over, then looked away, then looked back, and the whole damn side came down, piled up in the bottom of the ravine I was playing in over 20' deep of scree. Was a delay of about 5-6 seconds before it broke. BE CAREFUL peeps!! (and get this, there was a group of 7 dips on the main bowl of Jefferson, HIGHMARKING to the top, could not believe IT!!!! ) STAY OUT OF CHUTES AND OFF WINDBLOWN FACES!!:face-icon-small-coo:face-icon-small-fro:face-icon-small-coo

Second the Avy Danger

This was Friday on Lions head. This released naturally after we went thru and covered the trail. It was a real eye opener on the way back out.

really surprised that one had not slid yet. Its a known slider. Dropping down in off Reas into hell roaring is always sketchy because of the terrain trap and slide potential. Same with anything off the north side of jefferson. Played on two top all day and had a blast :)

Slim:

Jefferson is on a northern facing slope. Anything northern facing has been sliding the worst.

We have been staying away from anything even approaching questionable.

Stay safe.........
