Is this Wildcard?

here to you Brian:beer;:beer;:beer;:beer;your family will be in my prayers.

I agree that we should retire his user name...never be another like him

It didn't need to end that way....

The memory lives on, here, as many laughs were excanged over the years.

... sail the calm waters of eternity Brian. I raise my glass to you, and drink to life as it was.

I read this post with great sadness. I never met Wildcard in person but read many of his posts, some made you laugh out loud and some made you really think. A genuine tragedy for all involved. Men like Wildcard are a rare breed, they live life large, unfortunately they never seem to get old and gray like the rest of us, the brightest lights burn up the fastest. Wildcard was the perfect name for the man. Go with God Wildcard, I'll miss you.

RIP Wildcard

Damn.............

Ride on my friend............. May you have endless powder.

Here is some more info from Homer News on Wed Sept 10:

Howard was a member of the Kachemak Emergency Services Area board and had been a paramedic with the Homer Volunteer Fire Department from 2000-2006. Before the KESA Fire Station was built near McNeil Canyon Elementary School, equipment was stored at a Quonset hut on Howard's property.

"He built us that one shed to house the ambulance and get us on our feet in those early years," said KESA Fire Chief Patrick Johnson. "He was a top-notch paramedic. It was always good to have him on the scene."

Howard also worked in explosive ordinance disposal in Hawaii and for a private contractor in Iraq.

Elaine Grabowski, a firefighter-emergency medical technician with HVFD, also knew Howard.

"We knew him as a guy who lived life to the fullest and on the edge every day," she said.

Otton was from Unalakleet and went to high school there.

No funeral services for Howard or Otton have yet been planned.

Received this from bigdarrin.

Good idea Flatlander_99. Thanks.

Thanks for the head's up. I have set his title to "RIP Brian" have turned off the account's ability to receive PMs and a few other things. I'm not sure how else to "retire" his name inasmuch as if I delete it, then others could use it. I think keeping his posts around is a way to honor his memory.

Very sad deal, indeed.
