is this shock shot already?

2011 rmk assault - i have not been able to set up the sled for good transfer after playing with the rear track shock i put it back to factory setings and it still felt worst than the first ride at factory setings then i noticed how low the rear of the sled sat, lift up on the bumper and let go the sled drops about 3'' with no weight on the seat or tunnel, press down on the rear bumper and the sle squats another few inches and is very slow to return those few inches...not impressed with only 500 easy miles. when sled was new on garage floor there was no sag and if you sat on the sled and got off within seconds the sled was back to full extension... so should i rebuild/revalve this shock? how about the front track shock? or should i buy fox or other? with this coil over rear shock could i swap shocks with skid in or better to pull the skid?

Seen a rear shock come from the factory on a Pro that had 'pooched' guts that had similar results. I believe that just a couple of the shims needed fixing. Been good ever since.

thanks for the reply,

i was at the dealer for a minute yesterday and they had one pro rmk - not assault on the floor, did the exact same as i described above on mine, never even bothered to talk to service went home removed the two track shocks and sent them for rebuild/revalve

My rear suspension does exactly the same thing. Went riding in 1' spring powder yesterday, in the rain, and had a hell of time tipping it over on the flats. In the steep the handle bars felt light with my weight to the back but in the flats the skis were hard to turn no matter where i put my weight. I rode my friends 2008 M8 the same day and it was tipping over with almost no effort.

Is this covered by warranty? Or should I just ditch the factory shocks and go with Fox or Exit?

we have a few pro's in our group, none come all the way up to full extension when sitting. always have a couple of inches of sag, if this is what your seeing than its totally normal...

The coil over rear, in fact all suspensions, should have some sag in... it makes them work correctly.

If you have too much sag in when sitting on the sled it isn't the shock that is the issue, it's the spring.
