Out riding on the weekend, did a huck and landed super hard it cracked my pipe and i'm not sure if it is fixable or not. I hope it is because i don't want to have to get a new one. the crack goes from where my finger is along the seam to the other side, plus it cracked across the very front.

yes by a good welder so there is no crap on the inside... what probably broke it was harmonics..

What is Harmonics, is that just heat, i was riding pretty hard and i could have melted it?? The springs on the outside of the pipe holding the tin and insulation on had melted into the tin :S

Harmonics is just Vibration. actually it refers to the natural frequency at which something vibrates causing it to self destruck. Not common on stationary pieces. I would not worry about carbon build up on the inside either. It is a pipe, and will have carbon in it anyway. Only problem with welding is after the fact it will crack again with heat cycles. Will work for a while though. Also drill small holes on the ends of the crack or often when welding the crack will grow and you end up chasing it. Just my thoughts

So i got the pipe welded yesterday from a muffler shop. They missed a tiny little spot though just in one of the bends, i can't find the hold but when i Pressurize the pipe i can feel the air bleeding out somewhere, is this a major deal, it can only be a hole the size of a pin? Not much i can do about it now because i'm going away on a road trip this weekend and won't be able to do anything about until next week.
