Is there actually a difference in these 2 clutches?

I'm looking at adding an E-start kit off an '09 RMK to my wife's '07 D7. Problem is (possibly), the factory part numbers for the two clutches are different. I understand the number would be different for a standard clutch vs a ring gear clutch, but from what I can tell, the standard models are different between the years. The only differences I see in the exploded view are different bearing sleeve between the sheaves, a spring washer on the bolts that hold the outer cover on the '07(nothing on the '09), and a different washer for the clutch bolt...pretty minor. My main concern is, if these two are so close, why does Polaris not supercede them? They seem to do it with everything else.

The crank kit for the '07 supercedes to the '09, which just updates to a wide bearing on the PTO instead of 2 thin bearings, therefore I assume the taper is the same and the clutches will interchange. Below is the information I've found on the 2 clutches.

Clutch for 2007 700 Dragon cfi - Polaris sku#1322520, BSC#222. Says it fits 05 900 Fusion, 05/06 700/900 Fusion/RMK/Classic, 07 700 CFI, 08 600/700 CFI.

Clutch for 2009 700 RMK cfi - Polaris sku#1322796, BSC#223. Says is fits 08 800 late production, 09 700 RMK, 09-11 800 all. This is the only clutch listed for these models, including the E-start. Looking elsewhere, the #223 is listed for standard models and the #224 is listed for E-start models

I know I'm probably overthinking all of this and since it's a P85 with a 32mm taper, it should work just fine. Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

-Thanks

That's interesting Andy. I think the best thing you could do would be to remove your 07 clutch and measure it. I was under the impression that the 32mm cranks/clutch's didn't come out until 08 which "could" be confirmed if your info above is correct. Because 900's didn't have a 32mm taper unless they had been updated with the larger crank.

Dave, I went back and looked at the notes and they say the 05/06 700/900s must use #2203617 large taper crankshaft kit with the 1322520 clutch. No such notes for the 07 or 08. In my many searches last night, I did find an old part number for an 07 700 E-start kit on another forum...it has been superceded to the 08 and up kit. I still can't figure out why the clutch hasn't been superceded though
