Is there a way to reflash stock ecu?

Is there a way to have Polaris reflash a ecu to take the safeties (DET, pipe sensor, rpm, temp, etc,etc...) out of a stock ECU? The reason I am asking this is, I am planning on building a watercross sled and I do not want a sensor failure sending me into safe mode on the water. I am coming from a ski-doos where you sent the ecu to the race department and they would remove a limiting sensors and safeties that would allow sled to go into safe mode.
From researching I havent found that you cant do this on the polaris at least according to the race department but they also said they have limited knowledge in the 800 CFI-2 motor as they of course run the 600 carb in sno-x, ice oval and cross country.

I know I can change with the Vi-Pec but dont really want to spend 2 grand just to remove safeties as I am running in the stock class with stock pipes and heads and I wont require a new fuel map

Ok... I'll fix my reply for you

Not Possible for Non-Factory-Race-Team personnel.

I've watercrossed my 700 cfi and never had an issue. Thing was sunk plenty to. Never had a sensor go bad or go into limp mode.

My XP Pipe sensor ceramic would crack every time it was sunk and throw the pipe tempture readings all over the place, also had tempature sensors go wacky if water from roost would hit it. Going in to limp mode is something I cant afford to let happen even if the possiblity is small.

Does anybody know anybody I can talk to in engineering? I am doing this for closed course racing in the Pro Class of the IWA. It is time for a polaris to beat these Ski-Doo's and Cat's.

The people you need to talk to are in the Race Dept., not engineering. They cannot do ECM calibration stuff for guys "off the street" because of all the EPA legalities. But, if you are an actual racer with a verifiable resume', they may be able to help you out. The other suggestion may be to do as the IQR trail conversion guys are and take a (carbureted) 600R motor and drop the CFI 800 top end onto it. You may be better off doing that from a HP and tuning standpoint.

I have talked to Tom and Tom Jr. a multiple times and am on race support, They dont deal with any 800CFI motors in Wausau and dont have any equipment to do a re-flash, I can order parts from them but that is about it. The race department is kind of seprate unit from Polaris.

There is a few guys are running a carbed verision of the 800 as you described but they are racing in open classes (a guy won teh Semi-pro open season points title with this motor set-up) I want to stay Pro Stock so I can not run this.

If anybody has a contact in Roseau that I could at least send a email to, it would be very much appreciated!

Here is a couple links to some stories I have been featured in just to show i am "actual racer"

The first is a story from the Wall Street Journal it has video as well. This story ran on the front page.

Here is a link to a weather channel story, it also ran on all NBC affliates in the midwest.

Rather than getting all wound up, you could have indicated in your original post that you've already talked to the race guys and they were unable to help. I might have offered other suggestions....
