Is there a new thread mandate for mods??

There is a requirement that is asked and it is pretty minor. Just under my normal usage I can fulfill that one.

There is only one mod for Colorado. He's really easy going and not a socialist dictator. He's not gonna delete threads or threaten peeps.

He's still the same opinionated, outspoken, wise azz that he always was.

There are things that I have to keep at a minimum:

for sale threads
personal attacks against others (I am just as guilty)
and random BS threads, those will be moved into FP.

Generally this place stays clean and BS free.:beer;:beer;

Wow this thread got moved fast? I asked in the Colorado section because there are like 6 mods that live in Colorado so it seemed ok in that area. :(

I do appreciate the PM so I did not have to wonder if it was deleted or moved and where to.

:
Are mods required to start threads everyday or something?

It does help, esp if no one knows who/where the mod came from--->arfrce. does that dude even have a sled, and if so how long has he been sledder?

Maybe, he is an old time member with a new name? No insult, just a ?? Kinda of a mystery to many of us, who have been on the 4M for years.

ps. would someone like to meet for sex & bagels? :p

Wondering about this myself? If it a "moderator requirement" then maybe less mods would be better. Every time a turn around there's a new thread started by a mod....and many aren't very helpful.

So it was a yes...mods have to start a thread each day?
NO.
Moderators are not required to come down here and start worthless threads on an hourly basis as is the common tendency for many of you.

They are asked to start threads in their respective forums a few times over the course of the month on topics that actually have useful content in them though.

Why must you constantly judge the content and quality of someones post? I think this fact alone is what is bugging most of the long time/full time users. Who cares if a thread might no be in the exact, perfect, predetermined spot? And frankly who cares what the topic is on and how it might or might not pertain to snowmobiling.

We have created a community here with all its different facets. A home away from home that many people feel comfortable in. All of a sudden some slick out of towner has come in and decided everything would be better if it was just a little different.

One mans garbage is anothers treasure.

Ya...Fouled Plug. Get your 50 Mods to post their useless topics in Fouled Plug. You've got a guy who is he!! bent on selling HIS turbos and "passively aggressively" attacking any competition as a Doo mod. Another Doo mod is starting threads about an XP update that has been out for 9 months. A better screening process is in order.

Chris: I've been a member of this little "on-line town" 3 or 4 forum hosts ago (like 1999 or 2000 I'm guessing....there was 50 or 60 members when I first joined and I'll bet I can name half of them still). This little experiment you've been hired to perform is very counter-productive.

I must agree the changes are very unproductive and I would take a bet that they were fairly expensive....

Like DaveB I have been here for about 12yrs (started surfing SW when I got myself out of college and a full time desk job)

I read lots, post when I have something to add where I feel others haven't covered the points fully by the time I get home. I don't post from work nor login (work rules that I try to follow). Your Changes have fragmented out the vast knowledge base so far that I can't keep up so I have quit visiting big chunks of the forum. Sure there are brand/model specifics that are helped by chopping things up but there is a lot more to learn if all those problems are being solved side by side and I can grab a Polaris solution to a similar problem that I am having on my Yamaha or one of my buddies is having with the Doo they ride.

I frequent several forums - boats, sleds, garages, woodworking, home improvement and this was once the best forum to get all things snowmobile, now I just google things for sleds and if snowest is the search result that I like I use it or I go elsewhere.

Things change and I get that but frankly you are adding crap not content. Value comes from content not user ratings, chats, silly bar graphs, and "thanks" that eat up lines of screen.

Seriously you are being a JERK! For one it is summer and people like to have something to do and talk about, even if it is meaningless at least they are on SNOWESTS site participating and when the weather turns they will more frequent their favorite sled and riding areas forum, but until then let them have a good time. I agree with many since a certain "christopher" showed up this site has gone screaming downhill. In an effort to make it better I see a trend of many people just walking away. I may be wrong, but it really does get old. I stick around cause I enjoy the company of many of these people who start worthless threads on an hourly basis. Keep making it harder to be here and that may change. When the snow flies I'll be spending a lot more time in the doo section and the utah riding section like always but until then I would like to kill time peacefully with some good folks in the FP!

If you really feel this way then why the hell is there even a fouled plug/warming hut (which is pointless since they are the EXACT same thing)?

Seriously why don't you get a clue and start making this site better instead of trying to make YOURSELF look better.

All the thoughts just shared are simply my WORTHLESS opinion.

Careful mtnpull, you just might get him mad enough to post your personal info all over this site, at least that seems to be his M.O.

I wonder if the paying snowest customers should ban together and have a chat with Harris Publishing about a certain Dictator
