Is the warranty worth it?

Sorry if this thread is already out there, i tried searching but came up with nothing.

Anyway, I was just looking for opinions of people that already snowchecked a new polaris (now or in the past) and was wondering if the 4-year warranty is actually worth it. From what I have read in the past extended warranties are a joke and want to know if this is the same.

Talking to dealers, the 2013 800 PRO RMK comes with 1 year bumper to bumper and an additional 1 year powertrain. If you opt for that, you also get a $450 rebate (i dont need the $600 in gear). So basically, is the 4 year warranty worth the $450 or is it just another gimic?

Thanks in advance!

In my opinion its not a joke. $2000 dollar motor bill is covered by $450 extended warranty. Plus resale is better if you sell after 2 years. Get the 4-year warranty.

Ouch thats a little steep. Was just a guess tho. Im thinkin if a guy dint have warranty a BB would almost have to come into play..

Not a joke, it pays us retail on the parts and flat rate on the labor as opposed to 10% over cost and flat rate so I actually like the ESC programs just have to word the failure correctly to the insurance company.I have never had a claim turned down and have be able to put new motors in to 08-09 sleds for $50.00 deductible.

I lost the PTO side bearing last week in my 2011 pro. It took out the crank, one piston, jug, and the head. The total bill came up to 3,800 dollars. All I had to do was go sign the invoice, so to me its worth it. I cant afford not to have it.

The warranty is the main reason I snow check. Price a 4 year bumper to bumper out right if you wait and buy in the fall. Its alot more than $450. Don't remember exactly how much. Anyone else know.

I just snow checked a 2013 pro sled and 4 year warranty I think is a must. Also if I do decide to sell the sled the new owner can transfer to his name for the remainder warranty for $25.00 .
good deal all the way around jmo

Excellent question sledhead69

If I am doing my math correctly, on a $11,000 dollar sled and paying $450 for a four year warranty (which is far as I can tell is really a three year warranty being that the first year is already covered) your are only adding 4% ($440) to the cost of that sled.:light:
If your Snowchecking a new sled it's a no brainier.:rain:

I did a 2yr on my 11. Got my injectors replaced last summer from wire harness rub, no other problems. She's going down the road and a 13 with the 4yr is next. Given Poo's motor history, I won't own a stock poo without a warranty. If you mod, you're hosed anyways. All the coin I put into my 11, evols, boss, etc., will get popped over to the 13. New lower arms for the 13. Oh well. FWIW.

On my 2012 the dealer told me I can extend the warranty to 4 years for $750. Or 5 years for $870

I havent looked at the 13 warranty programs yet..but my 11 is a 4 year bumper to bumper....have never had an issue with polaris or the esc programs honoring the warranty either....

When I was at the dealer today I was told that Polaris switched to Assurant for 2012. Not sure who they were using before. I was surprised to find out they don't warranty their own equipment on an extended service plan.
