My blowoff valve does not seem to be working properly. When I let off the throttle quickly the blowoff valve kind of opens but the turbo also Shudders/flutters. Is it possible to adjust the blowoff valve that the MCX kit comes with? Does everyone elses do this. 08 Nytro with MCX kit running 12psi at 2000 feet.

Thanks

Make sure your signal line isn't pinched off with a zip tie somewhere, or kinked. Also check right at the tee, seen a few kinked right at the tee, they won't leak and the signal will not get to the blow-off valve quickly.

The stock MCX BOV has the wrong spring tension in them. Horribly wrong, it would 40 to 50 lbs of boost to blow it off. Replace the spring or buy a BOV that IS adjustable.

What BOV do you recommend or where do I get a spring from and how does the MCX bov come apart?

4 hex screws on the top, cap pops off and a single spring's in there.

turbo Smart makes the easiest adjustable one IMO.

Boost should never open your BOV, Vac from the intake is what pull's it open
Spendy BOV's are actually open at idle and close when boost starts

I have never heard my blow off valve go off and the waste gate flutters all the time. I am going to order a turbo smart blow off valve so I can get something that works properly and is adjustable. Although this is something MCX should be taking care of.

Well add one more thing to the ever growing list of add ons!

Talked with someone at a turbo shop and I ordered the Vee-Port blow off valve. Looks like it is similar to the one that is in there now just that it is adjustable.

This is what my blowoff valve looks like. I can not seem to get it apart to get at the spring. Does the end just twist off or is it a press fit. I would like to try cutting the spring down but can not seem to get it apart. You can see where I put a set of channel locks on it to get it apart but no luck.

I appreciate your help guys. I got it apart. Just a little more force and it twisted right off. Snowy1 you cut off 1 coil and it works good now. I will give it a try. What boost are you running?
