I have found a couple of m-8 and m-1000 new 2008 and 2009 for about 2 grand less than a 2010 is it worth the extra to get the new motor and the seat??? These are all standard sleds no sno pro. I have been outa cats for the last 5 years I just want a lighter sled than the Apex and the Nytro. I may do a turbo this summer just not sure yet.

I can only speak regarding the M-8s. The 09 is a great sled. The 2010 is better. $2000.00 better??? Tough question. The 2010, stock, will outperform an 09 that has an SLP pipe, can, and a few other goodies. Not by much, but it does.

if you cant wait for the 2011's to come out and the 2010's to drop a grand or so in price, go grab a 2009 and do your turbo setup. there's enough difference between 08 and 09 that it makes it worth it to pick up the 09.....my opinion anyways.

Not worth it for the 08 as it will cost $2000.00 or more to lighten it up and get it squared away. The 09 is a great sled and if you can get one cheap enough by all means do so and use the extra funds for mods and have a sled that is better than the 10.

With the 1000, I'd go 09 for sure over the 08. Get the elect reverse, lighter skid and new tunnel/bumper (ALthough I always thought the plastic rear bumpers were pretty cheezy, looked to be weak, they are stout! Had to make ALOT of attempts at pulling out a dead sled last wekend with my 08 1000. After the major abuse it took, they are not weak, can't believe it didn't break or mess up the tunnel, suffice it to say it was bad!).
I wouldn't spring for a 2010 1000, no real changes, IMO except the seat ($240).
M8 would be a tougher call. 09 got the same upgrades as the 1000, but the 2010 has the fancy new engine which so far seems to be a gooder.

If you go turbo I would get the 09 and put the 2k towards the turbo.

If your going stock I would get the 2010. I am thinking of trading my 09 for 2010.

What they said, I have one of each. The 09 TM8 is unbelievable. If you do not want to do a turbo then the 2010 M8 will not disappoint.

We have a great dealer ( Twin Pine Motor Sports ) he will let most riders take one out for a day.

Try to find a demo ride, the cost of a new sled is to big of a purchase to take our word for it.
