I got an EFI live setup and MBRP exhaust on my 2008 Dmax. Get the tune and everything from Idaho Rob at ATP Trucks. Running it for about 5 months now. They have the best DPF delete tunes for the Dmax. I have a stock tune with DPF I can switch to as well. Mine hardly smokes at all without the DPF and I make great power and 3-4 MPG better. Get the DPS5 switch so you can switch tunes on the fly. On the DPF delete tune, I have a stock tune, heavy tow tune with turbo brake, light tow tune with turbo brake, performace/street tune (which I use daily, gets best MPG), and extreme tune (never use it, possible to slip Allison trans running it. Would rather have a smoke tune). Also make sure you do gauges with EGT and boost. I did an pillar setup and was able to get a local body shop to paint match the pillar to the stock greyish headliner color. You can do a digital gauge too with Edge, but it's more pricey.
