Is it a good Idea to take sway bar off 03 summit?

I was wondering if it was a good idea to take the sway bar off my O3 summit HM with the zx chassi. It seems to carve and side hill good with it on. And if it is a good idea what tool is the best, a grinder or a sawsall.

Remove it, it's heavy and sucks when sidehilling if you keep it. just remove the plastic retainers at each end and slide it out. I have had mine out of my 03 since new. don't know why I still have it in my garage?

There's a "zip-tie" around it directly under the engine holding a wire! Don't horse it out to hard you might damage the wire! Clip it if you can get to it?

I've got a 700 without one and my wife has a 600HO with one. I love mine removed, she hates it - she also hates standing up. She is a trail only rider. Trails only, leave it, any powder riding, then yank it.

I removed it from both my 03 800 and 03 600. It is the way to go, remove the plastic clips, take lose the front of one trailing arm and pull it out. Side-hilling and overall boondocking will be improved. You may have to tighten up the front shock springs a little.

I removed mine without cutting anything just took some jacking up of the front end, disconnecting the trailing arms and some serious wiggling. I'd assume it's 3 or 4 lbs. If you really want to lose weight, hood and seat are the most bang for the buck.
