Is Fernie worth a drive from NW MT?

A friend of mine wants to make a trip up there next week. Is the snow good? Are there good riding areas?

The riding areas around Fernie are real nice and big.I am not sure on the snow,but had friends down near there on the weekend and they said it was good.
Its definately worth the trip.

Do they have much theft/ vandalism? If we go we would have to use an open trailer. Would you feel comfortable leaving sleds overnight on the trailer at a motel there?

I have not heard to much about any thefts in the area YET this year.I would say you should be safe...but you just never know.
It is a real nice area and the locals are nice,it is a sledder and skier town this time of year.
When are you going?I might be able to hook up and show you around.

We are considering a couple of days mid next week. drive up wed morning and come back thurs night possibly.

We will be in the area for valentines day weekend and wondering about conditions. If a local is interested in showing my group around I would make it worth your while.
