is everybody paying 150 bucks for the 377 belts?

ya, sure, sir

it even kept me from buying one at the time i picked up the sled. i knew i needed it but it was shocking enough of a price that it caused me to not buy it? was in the back of my mind that i might have been able to warranty some of last years i still have? probably have to just take the 150 plunge though, wait heres a thought ill blow the one that is on it replace it with the old style to get back to the trailer and warranty the 377, 150 saved

$185 here in Canada
WOW

120$ on ebay with shipping.
ok.that beats 1 fifty

if everyone gets off their clutch kit binge nobody would be complaining about the price of belts. run the 166 and align your clutches.!!!!
will 166 work on 09s?

same here.belt sticker shock kept me from buying one at the time.but now i need a spare:)

Most dealers will usually give 10 -20% off at delivery for accessories when you pay for your sled, I have my list including as many belts he will sell me, I'll need them someday.

there is a reason to why the 377 belt is on the xp chassi's
the 166 belt is a softer belt and comes to an adhesion temperature at a lower cab temp
the 377 belt is a harder compound and comes to adhesion temp at a higher temp . this is due to the higher under hood running conditions that the xp chassi has versus the older rev chassi
see it like a drag tire , to cold it slips and to hot is slips
there is an optimium temp that the belt needs to achieve to have proper belt to sheave adhesion.
the 377 belt running temp is to hot to touch
reason for higher cab temps is the constant quest of the manufactures to get the sled out the factory door as quiet as it can to meet the ever stringent sound test requirements

high belt wear and excessive temps in the last two seasons is due to poor quality primary clutch component.more than anything.

we will see soon as the 09 season will soon put enough of them out there to show.heres hopeing

after market replacement belts do not have the same compound and usually require a different approach to the clutching.

$150 here in North Idaho. They went up $25 since last year. Nice little markup there BRP.

Good news is the the 166 went down $10 to $89. Oh wait...XP's can't run those anymore. Funny how that worked out.

I noticed the BRP oil went up also. $5 more a gallon or $2 more per quart. What does a guy do....they know they got us!

mm

Does the 377 belt work for the 09's or is it a different belt

i heard that the new belt is a couple millimeters shorter, harder compound, and slightly wider. that will solve the problem?
does any body else remember when in 99 they did the same thing to the 809 motor? do you remember that belt, it was crap. it was so hard that during backshift and accelleration the thing would get glazed and was shot. i tried this belt out and after every day out i would have it in the sink in warm water scrubbin the glaze with an sos pad. although i never managed to blow one
time will tell on the new style this time. wont know till some real miles are on.
