Is El Nino here?

So I have been looking at the 10 day forecast and it looks cold and dry. Maybe some snow showers soon but no real storms approaching.

Hopefully this is not the start to the El Nino winter that has been predicted. :(

Our weather always goes in 3 week cycles.....we got a good 3 week cycle starting around 11/1 that lasted until around the 20th. This cycle will last until late next week or early the following and we'll be back to getting snow through the end of December.

At least we got a good pile of it to mostly cover stuff up and now it's hard so the next batch should be good for starting to really get off trail....hopefully...:beer;

Been sledding 23 yrs. around the Cle Elum area. My rule of thumb: Most years, you can ride sometime the 1st week of Dec. Some yrs. sooner, some later.

Last year, it was about Dec. 12 or 14th before I rode. It then dumped damn near every day for the next 3 weeks. Then, the big rains of early Jan., no new snow for 5 weeks and ending with a great March.......

These are normal cycles.......No matter what Al Gore sez:face-icon-small-hap

Mother nature is a fickle bi otch. Don't piss her off or we'll be surfing red tide for another week.

El Nino is suposta be warmer and drier than normal. There were several record lows set this week. November was in the top 10 wettest recorded. The mouth of the Entiat River is frozen already; there was frazzle ice on the Chiwawa River at 11:30am today! We are well within the "normal" range. Also to consider we are in the cold cycle of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation meaning that even though it is an El Nino by Southern Pacific Oscillation data, the overall PDO could offset it and make it an average temp and precipit year.

Also the recent news about the climate data for the last 160 years was “selectively” studied and an extensive effort to deceive, hide, and demonize scrutiny; nothing that free thinking scientists haven’t been saying.

Been watching the weather cycle very carefully for the last 5 years… seems to be on a 3 week cycle with a few days of transition (merging) between cycles. That is probably the typical Jet stream cycle.

Let’s hope this cold air sets in and the jet stream gets aimed at us next week and we get 3 weeks of storm after storm for Christmas!!!
