I installed the 8" kit on my 2002 EDGE -X 800 121" track.

Wasn't worth it, no top end improvement, was a real hassle to adjust the track tension as the "offset rear wheel stubs" require a boxed end wrench (have to reach in behind the 8" wheel) that ended up slipping off a few times and inevitably stripped the head off.

I would not do it again, I.M.O.

i agree...not worth the effort. I did a back to back test on my apex with stock wheels, then 9" wheels... ported 174-16 2.5 track..ZERO difference other that the look...

Your not going to notice a difference like 5mph or 10hp that comes from nowhere. Its the fact that knowing your sled is working a little less with the reduced resistance. Means less wear and tear, cooler running temps.

Absolutely worth it for the PLP effect, but that is about it.

One of the things I have noticed that bigger wheels helps a bit on is backing the sled. Does not trench the sled as easy as it does with stock wheels.
But i guess its mostly for looks.
