This just goes to show, Where there's will, There's way. Not a big fan of the IQR in the first place but i know there are a lot of you out there. Cool Project.

that is a very cool build. I would like to know more about fitting the race plastics. You have started with a D7 so how did the fitment go?

Did you end up with IQR pipes or did Dragon / RMK pipes fit?

can a guy trim the side pannels more to make it fit the steering hoop and foot pockets better? or will it mess with the integrity of the pannel? other than the fitment there, that looks awesome!

I had to use a heat gun to make somethings fit, the worst fiting peice is the stirrups if you notice it has a big gapeing hole on each side, i just didnt take the time to cover it up as iam fighting runability problems and still am.

as far as the tunnel gos the only build up of sno i get is at the bumper because they made the part you grab to close the end of the tunnel "I cant get my finger in between it with gloves on"

Also what i didnt know at the time is that the race chassis is 1-2in wider so the hood dont fit rite and it actually just sits outside of the groove where the hood would normally ride

Ive never seen a iqr in person so i dont know how the plastics fit together by looking at these plastics i would say they fit together like crap even on a iqr they seem very cheeply built i cant see how an iqr would work very good in dry powder because to me they dont seem like they would seal very well alowing sno to get in

I just really like the looks of the iqr, and didnt want to buy a whole new sled, would i do it again probley not as i dont like the fit

pros- plastic dont break easy like stock iq plastics, LOOKs of the race chassis

cons- fitment, gives the sled the bathtub feel

i dont really know how to explain it if you want to talk on the phone pm me

there is no reason these plastics cant fit really well on the raw chassis. 440 used a heat gun to mold and bend them into place, imo a few cuts would work better to get it perfect. The shock towers and stirrups seem to be the biggest pita, but thats the way it goes, if a guy got creative it could look really good, and fit just fine.

Like 440 said, he has been fighting runability issues so theres bigger things on his plate. The sled looks good I think, but just as with anything else there is always room for improvement.

yeah its definitly a 20 footer the shock towers actually fit pretty good its the stirrups.

but i dont like the way the iqr plastics hook into eachother its just not as tight as a seal that i would like,

yes you definitly make it fit better if i was to do it agian would to take it to somebody who makes hoods and have it custom made to fit because my hood dont fit good at all it just looks like it does

if i had alot more money to spend on it sure i would do it again
