Has anyone ever heard of crossing the wires on the temp probe on the Dragon RMK 8's if running the SLP single? Had a buddy that was told to do this if running the SLP pipe. What do you think?

I think you would /could smoke an ecm doing that..being a resistor they send a fixed voltage thru one wire and the ecm reads the voltage that makes it thru(which changes with heat) reversing wires might hurt something..I would call jim at slp and ask him before I did it..mines hooked up as designed and it runs great...

I think he got some bad info.

In the original 800 pipe for the '08 there was a resistor you put in line with the temp probe.

Since about the 2nd reflash the resistor hasn't been used and you don't do anything special with the temp probe lines.

Are you saying if you have a 08 d8 with the new update, you should remove the resistor on a SLP pipe setup?

Bulldog

Yup. The '09 never used the resistor. Now with the sleds updated to the same 'rev' if you will, no resistor needed.

AK,

Would I just unplug the resistor or remove it and splice everything back together?

Thank you,

Thank you,

the resistor should just unplug..if its been in all this time you may need to use two pair of needle nose plyers to get it unplugged without damaging the connectors..then replug the wires togeather....

AK,

thank you,

It has been so long since I installed the pipe set that I don't even remember what the resistor exactly looks like.

it is a little peice of black heat shrink with pink bullet connectors sticking out each end..it will be mounted directly to the egt sensor wires..with the harness plugged in on the other end.....
