IQ 440 to 600 HO swap

I've stumbled on a great deal and need some input. Guy from the area wants to swap my 440 for the 600ho in his wrecked Fusion for a very reasonable price. He started telling me something about programming something to do the swap. I was under the impression that doing this swap, everything would go including all electronics so there would be no programming needed? Am I wrong? How about the motor plate/mounts? I thought I'd be keeping my plate but he said he would need that. Guy kind of seems like a tool so I'd like to know if I'm getting myself into trouble? I havn't done too much research on this sled yet. Just bought it a couple weeks ago.

I would try some ot the other forums (PM me if you need). I know some of them have 440 coversion posts for days. Not my speciality as I am starting my IQR project. Basically all I have done is some very minor teardown. I am hashing over putting an 800 rotax in an IQR for next year.

To swap the 440 for a 600ho you can use your 440 harness and would only need the 600ho engine harness(the small one off the motor that goes to the cdi) and the 600ho CDI. Also you need your 440 motor straps for your sled the fusion straps are way different. You would need a pipe or properly modded 440 pipe to run on the 600ho, other minor things like coolant line routing, oil tank off a rr or blocking off the pump and running premix are simple and up to you. Also with some more time and work you can use the fusion wiring and digital speedo on your 440, and with some minor driveshaft modding have a working speedo as well.
