Intermittent electrical problem need advice.

My 2013 SBA has an intermittent engine light and battery indicator coming on.
I had this problem early this season and took it into the dealer for warranty. It was there for two weeks and they determined it was a bad voltage regulator. It was intermittently dropping to 6 volts output.

I have since put on about 75 miles and while driving today the engine and battery light came on about 15 miles into the ride. After each stop the light would not come on until 10- 15 miles. After the last stop the light never came on for that last 25 miles.

When it does act up, the battery indicator flashes when RPM are at clutch engagement speed and higher. When at idle the engine light comes on and the battery indicator goes away.

The sled starts and runs perfect with the lights on or off. No spits or sputters and holds 8250 RPM steady.

Now the kicker- I am leaving for the Big Horns on Thursday A.M. so the dealer can have it until Wednesday.
From what I understand there will be no codes stored unless the engine light is on and you do not shut down the engine.

What would you guys do? Hope the dealer can chase down the ghost or just run it? It is under warranty.

All codes will be stored in the ECU, you can't call them up on your sled after you shut it off, but your dealer can.

Dealer says they found a capacitor with a melted plug located in the harness pouch above the primary clutch. Stored codes were system voltage low and exhaust valve voltage low. Replaced capacitor and no new codes after a 4 mile test ride.

I have not heard of the capacitor on these sleds. Does anyone know what circuit it would be for?
