Take a look at this article. I wonder why they aren't getting the same media attention we as snowmobilers get. 60 search and rescue workers to find and rescue them.

Maybe we should change what we call ourselves. No longer be "sledders", "snowmobilers", or "snowmachiners"....we are Snow Explorers. It seems to be more accepted and not a bad thing if the word "explorer" is attached to something.

I always find it funny that 99% of the time it's a sledder that brings out the "avid winter outdoor survivalist" when they get turned around and their skiis or snowshoes can't save them. SAR teams use sleds, and when the "Volunteer" search teams show up, it's with sleds. Go figure...
