Interesting Weather in Eastern Grand County

Didn't like what I saw this morning. A good 1/8 inch of ice on my truck. I live in the Winter Park/Fraser valley and yesterday (the 30th) we had cold temps (low 20s) and snow for most of the day, but around six last night it started to lightly rain - freezing rain of all things. Made for dreadful roads this morning, one bad roll-ever on the flats. Hopefully this was localized in the valley where we had a cold air inversion and not higher up in the peaks where I'm guessing this last storm put down 18 to 24 inches. Down low is all slush now but wondering what it is like higher up.

Don't need to start the year with thin layer of ice on the snow. Just food for thought and curious if any one else in the mountains saw this type of weather yesterday.

Freezing rain reminds me of Vermont:confused:
That and rain in winter :mad:is the reason we moved here.
Super nice in Summit County today, put away the summer toys and cleaning up the sleds for winter.

I'm in the Highlands, never rained here! The snow in my yard is a tad crusty tho. I was thinking about heading over to Vazquez rd and taking a ride on the water board road behind the ski area, to see what kinda snow was over there?
