An interesting quote from this article:

I think the market is totally insane," said Fadel Gheit, a senior energy analyst at the investment firm Oppenheimer. "Somebody is playing a game, and we're all paying for it."

Gheit said demand has fallen in developed countries, and there is plenty of energy supply - mostly in the form of natural gas - available right here in the United States, if only the oil companies had access to it.

Some analysts and politicians have called for increasing the nations oil production by drilling in areas that are currently off limits - like the Arctic National Wildlife Re***e, sections of the Rocky Mountains and off the east and west coasts.

"If we opened access to gas in this country, we wouldn't need oil in five years," he said.

It might be that prices are artificially high ... that's all fine and dandy, but the point I'm trying to make is, natural gas is the cleanest burning fossil fuel on the planet, and we have a LOT of it in the US. An awful lot of it. In fact, that's virtually all we're drilling for in the rockies right now is natural gas.

Vehicles run on natural gas, and are VERY clean, even moreso than gasoline.

So why can't we drill for it?

I'm surprised to see that article on a news site that's basically a more right-wing news source than Fox news. Needless to say, there are three O2 sensors for that entire huge area, all the greenie whackos know where they are, and I've been hearing for years about people seeing "suspicious" looking people around those sensors with spray cans

You really wanna know who is at fault for high gas prices? Blame the idiot f*cking environmentalists and the politicians they elect.
