Intercooler temps

Does anyone know if there intecooler temps change much with hood on or off ? I have a Powderlites kitted 04 RX1 with the stock hood and I am thinking of cutting a hole above the intercooler if it is necessary but I dont think my cooler gets that hot . I like the looks of the hood and don't want a light weight hood and never run over 16lbs boost.

With my Alpine kit I found it ran better with a mountain mod hood.The Intercooler gets way more air and so does my air filter

what hoods did you run before the mountain md hood?if any

I think I will try my temp gun and do some testing. Just by feel my cooler is not hot but then what is hot ?
