Intercooler powder coating?

Can you powder coat an intercooler or will it not transfer enough heat? Anodizing better? I seen some intercoolers with a grey cooler to them....almost looks powder coated....

powdercoating will insulate and will fill the pores and both of those factors will not let it cool as well...

You can powdercoat the end tanks, but not the core. As stated you will loose effeciency.

I wondered the same thing when I saw the mountain mod Apex build... guess its not a good idea.

Intercooler coating

Yes it helps in cooling but only come in charcoal color.

alumium is the best heat transfer available so if you coat it you must be reduceing it!

Let me correct the wording of that.....

Aluminum is the CHEAPEST & LIGHTEST material available with the best heat dissipation properties..... There are way better thermal conductors available, but they are not practical due to weight, cost (copper) and in the best one out there.... the ability to turn it into an intercooler - Diamond.
