intake vent for m series

i saw somewhere on the net guys were doing the rkt hood lift but some guy said why do that when you can use this intake vent off an older model sled i can't remeber what it was does any one know what i am talking about..
i can describe it, about 12-14 inches long 1-1.5 inch wide made out of aluminum has about 6-8 holes in it with mesh.. any help would be awsome thanks.
