Someone posted a link to a company that makes one outta carbon fibre...deflects the snow away from the air intake?? I cant find it anywhere....anybodyknow??

Anyone used one of these in deep pow? How are they working? Based on what I've seen in deep, light fluff, they look like they won't do that much to help other than make it harder to clean off the intake and simply catch more snow over the intake material.
Based on what you have seen they look like??? What is that supposed to mean? Have you used one or are just guessing.
I only want to hear from those that have used one. I heard from one person that used one and he said it did help alot, but still got a little snow in their. I am waiting to hear more reviews of how they work in the deep powder.
My stock one plugs in about two seconds. The rpm cover looks like it should work, but I wan't to hear from those that have used one.
I think I am going to drill two holes in the back of my box and cover with prefilter material soon.
It means.... based on how I have seen the light fluff literally stick to my prefilter with snow and air moving past it, if you eliminate the air with the deflector, I would bet the snow will pile in there and sit just like it does now if not worse! - I'd like to know as well if they work - chill badboy.
We have a fabbed version just like the carbon fiber on a buddies XP. It does help a bit. Does make it harder to get the ice chunks to cleared out. Does not keep snow out if you roll Her over etc. Fine Powder still collects on screen. I have the airbox drilled and covered with prefilter material and I dont even think about air intake anymore...sometimes I look down at the end of the day and see the stock filter just caked with ice and snow and realize it has been that way ALL day. Like I said I dont even think of Air Intake anymore. 4 holes-back of airbox-prefilter. Never clogs.Based on what you have seen they look like??? What is that supposed to mean? Have you used one or are just guessing.

have any pics of your airbox mod? Are you putting 2.5" flo-rites in or really just drilling holes(what size?) and covering with prefilter? Talk to me - how did you do it? I am ready to mod mine this week.
Thanks -
I am thinking of just putting holes in the back of the air box and covering with prefilter material also.
I just thought it would be better to get outside air. put smaller holes in air box and still get some from stock intake or put big holes in back of air box and not worry about trying to get air from stock intake
Krazy, I had some of SLP pre filter material sitting around-I drilled 4 holes with a 2" Hole bit. Cut pre filter piece to fit whole back of airbox. Used Marine GOOP and Slathered all over any plastic left of back of air box. Applied square of material and pressed everywhere on GOOP slathered back. Let Dry Overnight. Out of a $30 dollar piece of pre filter used maybe $5 bucks worth.$1 or so of GOOP. No Problems with it in DEEP Powder. 6 weeks or more of Snow like this in the Pic with ZERO bog and no problems. Hope that Helps ya out.
I have been riding for the last two days in five feet of fluff and you can never get enough air. I have and highly recommend the rpm deflector, you can watch the snow flow overtop of it. The intake still does get plugged but not as bad and what do you expect when the whole sled is completely under the snow. I also have two florites in the backside of my airbox and they also definitley help. blah blah blah temperature sensor. The sled is starving for air and is getting a little from the stock intake and a little from the bypass and a little from the florites, the temperature is not that different. You still need more air, yes the colder the better. With the deflector and the florites my sled never missed a beat, not one bog but it still needs more air, it wouldn't make full power after bombing around in the bottomless fluff. Teeroy is on the right track I just don't know where to draw air from, above the gauges is one of the first places that gets covered in snow.
