installing rear shocks

what is the trick to installing rear shocks on 06 Summit. I have the back one on, i am having issues with the front one, the one with the spring. i need to compress it about 1/2 inch. I have the entire rear end hanging from the rear bumper.

Are you sure you have the right spring/shock that is replacing it? I did mine last year but don't remember having that problem, but i would sugggest put the bolt though on one end of the shock and have a buddy pull/push to compress the shock so you can get the other bolt in or get a spring compressor on it. hope that helps

Unbolt the limiter strap and you should be bang on. then sent on ground and re-do the limiter

another nifty trick is to use a ratchet strap to manipulate things in there as needed.

While you are in there, check the bracket that the front of the rear shock bolts to. The 2 bolt holes that hold the shock and the tension rod will wear out in time. Its a 'day ender' trust me
