installing no sno boards 07' M8??

First observation is that with the no sno inserts all the way forward in the foot wells a few of the treads punched through the running boards are in the way. So i ground a few off and with the boards clamped in place marked where to cut out the squares. How are you guys making these cuts?

I know to drill out/ radius corners first but a jig saw is too wide to make the cut closest to the tunnel and it seems you would need to remove the tunnel rolls and grind off all the punches in the running boards. That seems like too much work so then i was going to just fire up the grinder w/ a cut off wheel but that could get messy....dremel tool or is there an easier way?

ok i got it, mark where i want to cut, drill out the corners from the top, flip the sled on its side, transfer lines to bottom based on holes, and cut from the bottom with the jig saw. just need a few beers while looking at the sled to get the gears turning....

No need to transfer the lines to the bottom. Just drill out the corners and with the saw underneath, follow the lines on the top with the blade that is exposed. I think a jigsaw is the easiest way to cut those out.

why cut out all holes and not just 1 big hole or 2 smaller holes ? that is what I did about 3 yrs ago I used cpc no snow but almost same thing still working great

i would cut each hole individualy, if you get about a 5-6 inch blade for your jigsaw you can cut out the holes from the top. thats what i did, if you take your time and file and bevel all the holes they come out looking awesome. you will love them, are by far the best mod i've ever done to any sled!!!

Cut one big hole. I used a sawzall. I did it this way on my 05 m7 (snow eliminators) and my 07 m1000 (mtn. fit f.u. boards). no problems on either sled

Another vote for one big hole. I did the individual holes on mine and it was a big waste of time. BAMFM7 rode is M7 way harder than mine with the one big hole and never had an issue.

If you can use one of those air saws. It is about 1/2 the size of a jig saw and uses a jig saw blade. Takes about 1/2 the time.

you guys are forgetting one thing, no sno's are plastic, not aluminum or steel. i think cutting one big hole would be a mistake. i cut individuals on my 06 xfire and it worked out pretty good. used a drill, die grinder, jigsaw, bud light, advil, bud light, bud light.......
