Installing Mountain Seat on 09 CF8 SnoPro

Hey fellas,

I am trying to install a 2010 Mountain Seat on my 09 CF8 SnoPro and I am looking for a instruction manual on how to go about doing it.

I was talking to the mechanic at my local shop and he said I needed to pull the 2 rear suspension/drop down bracket bolts. Also, that the mountain seat comes with longer bolts that go up thru the gas tank and into the seat Im guessing.

Is there a way of supporting the rear end of the machine after the 2 rear suspension bolts are out, or can I just have a buddy hold the rear end up while I do the work?

Any info or links to a DIY guide would be awesome. :face-icon-small-hap

Just follow the instructions that came with your seat (if there are any). In the case that there are not any instructions, it sounds like you have the right idea, I mean, installing that thing is pretty self explanitory.

As far as the track goes, go spend the 200 bones and get a track stand...best money I've spent as far as garage stuff goes for the sled.

If thats out of the question....well....get ya' some logs or 2x4's to hold the a$$ up and go to work (but PLEASE, PLEASE be careful...VERY unstable that way).

My best advice is don't let the sled intimidate you...it's easier than it looks, just take your time, put yer' man hands in her, and let the sled know who's the boss...seriously, make that thing work for YOU....not the other way around. :face-icon-small-coo

elevate the rear of the sled with a strap on the rear bumper. pull only the rear skid bolts at the drop brackets, and drop the rear skid down out of the way. pull the old seat off, remove the two rear bolts holding the back of the fuel tank to the tunnel (closest to the front of the seat area), install the longer bolts for the 2010 seat, and the seat. if you have a rear float shock, let the air out. if you have the torsion spring set up, remove the pressure for the rear springs. install the rear drop bracket bolts, and re-air the float, or add the pressure back to the torsion spring. enjoy the new seat. ski

Thanks fellas. Got it on last nite and only ran into one issue with the bolts up thru the gas tank. Didnt realize they had keeper nuts on them under the tank that I couldnt see without lifting up on the tank a little. Other than that, the new seat looks and feels awesome! Try it out this weekend.
