Installing extended Throttle Cables On a 2001 800

Ok heres my question. I have not looked in to this too much but thought I could get an awnser here to resolve my issue! I am putting an extra 5 inches on my steering post and need to install longer cables. My buddy has the same sled as I do and last year when he installed his cable he had a problem with getting the carberator end to fit properly. There is a little plastic like bushing that goes around the pin that makes it snug in the round bracket that holds it. Hopefully this is making sense. He left his plastic bushing off and now it is sloppy. I find this could cause issues in the future were I to do this. Is there a tool or a way to get that plastic bushing inserted? I tried on his sled and could not get it to all slide in together. Any assistance would be great. Thanks in advance! If it doesn't make sense let me know and ill take pictures next weekend and post them.

I thought of that but my cables are looking a little worse for the wear and thought I would replace them and save the hassel getting towed out! :D

I put an Edge RMK throttle cable on my Gen II RMK when I put a riser on it... the Edge cable is longer than the GenII one. Not sure if it will be enough for all the riser you are using, but it gave quite a bit.

that is what I would do, I absolutely hate aftermarket cables and extenders. all that I have seen pull hard. the extensions I have bad luck with them so avoid them

Yeah It does pull hard after I put it on but this one has an adjuster in line and I got it to loosen up a tad.....not so bad but definably not like the stock one!
